Best Vape Tank for Flavor
Aspire Cleito Exo Tank

- Diameter: 23.5 mm
- Height: 57 mm
- Tank capacity: 3.5 ml (standard version; there’s also a TPD version with a 2-ml capacity)
- Comes with a 0.4-ohm pre-installed coil
- Top airflow system
- 510 thread
I would sincerely call the first item on our list the best vape tank for flavor. Trust me when I say:
This little tank will become your best buddy after the first inhale. The flavor it provides is exceptionally good!
Now, what plays a huge role in flavor quality is the construction, of course. First off, the tank comes with a pre-installed sub ohm coil (0.4 ohms), which performs great at around 40 to 60 W. Secondly, the airflow system in this little device works amazingly well. It is located at the top (but doesn’t allow leakages, by the way) and forces the air down the tube sides, under the coil, and back up the chimney. This results in an incredibly good, deep, and rich flavor. All you have to do is pick your most favorite e-juice and enjoy!
Best Vape Tank for Big Clouds
SMOK TFV8 Cloud Beast Tank

- Diameter: 25.5 mm
- Height: 50 mm
- Tank capacity: 6 ml
- Adjustable bottom airflow
- Stainless steel construction
- Top-fill system
- Comes with 3 different coil heads
The next product on our list occupies the place of the best vape tank for big clouds. This model by SMOK will blow you away with the vapor production it is capable of. It is perfect for people who are really into cloud chasing or simply appreciate a super dense vapor.
The majority of tank tubes are made of Pyrex glass. However, there are models that feature plastic or metal tubes
The first thing I want to note is the fact that this tank is quite a versatile device, even though it was designed specifically for cloud chasing. It is also really good for flavor if you adjust the airflow and wattage accordingly and don’t mind sacrificing some of the vapor amounts. The tank can withstand high wattages and performs rather well, but I enjoyed using it the most at 80 W. Keep in mind that it burns the e-juice rather fast, but it’s not actually surprising given how powerful it is and taking into account that it comes with sub ohm coils.
Best Mouth-to-Lung Vape Tank
Aspire Nautilus 2 Tank

- Diameter: 22 mm
- height: 53 mm
- Tank capacity: 2 ml
- Aluminum and Pyrex glass construction
- Comes with a pre-installed 0.7-ohm coil and a 1.8-ohm extra one
Another item on our list that deserves to be among the top-rated vape tanks is this model by Aspire. Being a super compact and sleek tank, the Nautilus 2 can easily become your very best mouth-to-lung tank. It offers a nice hit and a great performance for a rather reasonable price.
Now, guys at Aspire clearly designed this tank to be suitable for people who prefer a mouth-to-lung vaping style. And the proof of that hides in the airflow system. Located at the bottom of the tank, the air holes allow for numerous combinations and a very smooth, unrestricted movement of air (which, again, helps achieve that mouth-to-lung style). I also love the fact that the glass tank tube is protected by the aluminum outer shell, which promises a longer use duration. The flavor quality is more than decent and will not disappoint you.
Sub ohm tanks are perfect for cloud chasing or a more concentrated flavor
What might confuse you, though, is the refill system (it sure did confuse me at first). You see, this tank features the top-fill design, but technically, it’s not that simple. To refill your tank, you need to take the top shell off completely, not just the mouthpiece. It’s not that much big of a deal but might take you more time to refill your tank.
Best Cheap Vape Tank
Joyetech Cubis Sub Ohm Tank

- Diameter: 22 mm
- Tank capacity: 3.5 ml
- Top-fill design
- Adjustable top airflow
- Stainless steel construction
Let me share one curious find with you. This little guy by Joyetech is one of the best cheap vape tanks I’ve tried so far. Being priced ridiculously reasonably, it is a perfect option for new vapers who aren’t quite sure what they want exactly and wish to try various models without investing too much.
Here’s the deal:
This tank is not only cheap. It also comes with some extras (like 3 different atomizer heads) and performs really well. I loved the flavor quality with all 3 coils, which managed to withstand my tests at different wattage ranges. The top airflow is smooth and easy to adjust. It is great for a mouth-to-lung vaping but may not allow for a draw that is tight enough for a direct-to-lung style. Just something to keep in mind.
And it gets better:
Even though the air holes are placed at the top, there are no leaks!
Best Vape Tank That Doesn’t Leak
iJoy Exo XL Sub Ohm Tank

- Diameter: 26 mm
- Height: 56.6 mm
- Tank capacity: 5 ml
- Stainless steel construction
- Top-fill design
- Suitable for RTA deck
- Adjustable airflow
If you are looking for the best vape tank that doesn’t leak, you really should pay your attention to this model by iJoy. It can hold enough e-juice for you to vape on and on without allowing it to leak (since the airflow system is located at the bottom of the tank).
Many tanks come with additional tubes that allow users to change the e-juice capacity
Now, this tank may look a bit bulky, and it’s not suitable for any mod because of its larger size. However, its size results in a larger e-juice capacity, which some of you will appreciate very much. It also comes with a pre-built coil and an extra one, both of them being sub ohm. I’ve tested them both and was rather pleased with the results. The cloud production was great, which is the good news for all my fellow cloud chasers. The flavor quality didn’t disappoint me either. I did struggle a bit with finding a proper mod for this large tank, so that’s something you should keep in mind.
Best Vape Tank in 2016-2017
Vandy Vape Triple 28 RTA Vape Tank

- Diameter: 28 mm
- Tank capacity: 4 ml
- Postless building deck
- Top-fill design
- Dual adjustable airflow slots
- Suitable for dual and triple coil configurations
Have you heard about the tank that was among the best vape tanks in 2016-2017? If this item by Vandy Vape occupies the number one place in 2018 as well, I will not be surprised. It is very nicely constructed and performs very well. Trust me, if you give this tank a try, you won’t regret it. You might not want to miss our RTAs guide as well.
Here’s the deal:
I tried vaping with this tank using both dual and triple coil configurations. Both made me very happy. The clouds were huge and thick, and the flavor was crisp and deep. The airflow was also quite a joy to play with, allowing for a smooth air delivery and many customization options. No wonder this tank is so popular!
You may feel startled when you see how large it is, so keep in mind that it won’t look equally good on all mods. It’s best to use it on the larger ones, for the mere aesthetics.
Top-Rated Vape Tank Overall
GeekVape Ammit RTA

- Diameter: 27 mm
- Height: 48 mm
- Tank capacity: 3 ml / 6 ml (comes with an extra tank tube)
- Top-fill design
- Suitable for single and dual coil configurations
- Adjustable bottom airflow
The next item that deserves to be called the best vape tank on the market is this model by GeekVape. To tell you the truth, it was very, very hard for me to find fault in this little chubby tank. It is very well constructed, super easy to work with, and performs more than just satisfactory.
Sub ohm tanks tend to burn the coils faster. Moreover, they use more e-juice
Now, what I really love about this model is how elegantly simple it is. You won’t have any trouble building on it, I am sure. The refill process is also very easy thanks to the top-fill design. It comes with a larger tank tube for a bigger juice capacity. You may use it with a single coil or with two of them. No matter which variant you choose, the vapor amount will be great and the flavor will also be nice.
And here’s the kicker:
Despite this tank being quite chubby, you can easily fit it on the 22-mm mod thanks to the narrower base.
Best Aesthetics Vape Tank
Wotofo Bravo RTA

- Diameter: 25 mm
- Height: 48.9 mm
- Tank capacity: 4.5 ml / 6 ml (there’s an extra bubble tube in the kit)
- Floating deck resign
- Adjustable base airflow
Take another look at the photo above. Don’t they look super cool? Yes, they do. But don’t get me wrong:
This tank belongs to the top-rated vape tanks not because it looks great. The aesthetics are only a pleasant bonus.
The truth is, this tank is very cleverly constructed and performs exceedingly well. It has a raised deck, so you will have enough space for your wicks. Keep in mind that building on it isn’t challenging but may require less experienced users to give it a couple of tries.
This tank is ideal for sub ohm vaping and works great with dual coils. The airflow system is very well constructed: the air is forced inside at the bottom and travels up the chimney, resulting in a crisp flavor and a good amount of vapor.
Insights into Vaping: Types of Tanks
Here’s the deal:
In order to pick something, you are going to enjoy, you first need to figure out what the modern vaping market has to offer to you. The two common tank types are sub ohm and mouth-to-lung tanks. What’s the difference between them? Let’s find out.
Mouth-to-lung tanks:
- are typically smaller and slimmer, designed to provide you with that smoking-like experience;
- have a rather restricted airflow and juice flow;
- typically use pre-built coils;
- are more suitable for less dense PG-based e-juices;
- designed mostly for nicotine-containing e-liquids.
Sub ohm tanks:
- can work with low-resistance coils (even lower than 1 ohm);
- usually, have a better airflow and larger juice channels;
- designed specifically for huge clouds and a more concentrated flavor;
- require more power;
- eat the e-juice faster;
- usually, burn the coils rather fast (in a week, on average).
Make sure to check the Ohm’s Law before diving into Sub Ohm vaping.

Rebuildable or Not?
Choosing between a rebuildable tank and the one with disposable pre-built coils is a challenge numerous vapers face. However, picking one of those tanks isn’t hard.
You see, you just need to figure out what you want. A tank with a pre-built coil head is super easy to use. So, if you are not into coil building or don’t have enough experience to do that, this is an ideal option for you. Just keep in mind that buying new coil heads regularly may be quite expensive.
On the other hand, a rebuildable tank will allow you to experiment with your coils, wicks, and build styles, giving you a chance to find the perfect setting for your ideal vaping experience. In addition, buying coils and wicks separately in large batches can really save you some money.
Let’s Talk About Airflow and Why It Matters
Neglecting the airflow system in the tank is a common mistake that many new vapers make. However, the airflow is one of the features that cannot be neglected. Numerous experienced vapers believe that it is as important as the flavor quality, and there’s a reason behind that.
You see, the quality of the flavor will directly depend on the airflow system that your tank features. That’s why models with adjustable airflow are so popular. But how exactly does it influence your vape?

By regulating the airflow, you can alter your vaping experience
Let me explain.
Basically, the airflow system’s job is to deliver the air from the coils to your mouth and lungs. By controlling it, you are able to control the amount of vapor and the deepness of flavor. For instance, the more you close the air slots, the more concentrated flavor you will get. This will also allow for tighter inhales and a stronger throat hit. On the other hand, leaving the air holes opened will provide you with a smoother vape and cooler inhales.
It is obvious that your airflow settings will depend on your preferences. So, find what you enjoy the most, experiment with different air slot positions, and enjoy yourself!
Conclusion
No matter how fun vaping is, sometimes it can be a very disappointing experience. I am talking about those situations when you buy something low-quality without realizing it. This can ruin your day, week, or even your month (if you are on a tight budget and can’t afford to buy a new device right away).
The good news is that I am here to save you from such unpleasant situations. The 8 vape tanks I’ve prepared for you today are really worth investing in. Still, there was one that I enjoyed using the most. Curious to find out which one?
The Exo XL sub ohm tank by iJoy. It features a very smart construction, a smooth adjustable airflow, and a large tank capacity. I didn’t manage to find any serious (or even minor) flaws in it, which proves again that this tank is worthy of your attention. It can offer you huge thick clouds and a rich flavor. So, don’t hesitate and test it yourself. Vape away, my friend!
I hope this vape tanks review was useful to you. Now, you can easily name what are the main differences between vape tanks.

May 23, 2018 at 12:29 amIs it a good idea to buy a vape tank with replaceable coils? I mean factory manufactured coils, cause they’re not cheap. Do they hold long before replacement?

May 23, 2018 at 3:56 amHi Trevor, I would suggest looking for rebuildables. Definitely, there’s a learning curve when trying to make your own coils & you might waste some wire, but once you master this skill you’ll be saving a lot of money.

July 8, 2018 at 12:27 pmI got a good allowance to fit in my metal and plastic tubes with SMOK TFV8. Though i nearly became discouraged when i realised it was designed specifically for one thing.
Now, though I prefer the plastic tubes, but my metal tubes can give me every satisfaction with the SMOK tank.

July 8, 2018 at 12:33 pmI got every assurance that SMOK TFV8 can fit both plastic and metal tubes. Hence, i maximize the utility of this tank with my plastic tube. Though I get equal cloud and satisfaction when I use the metal tube.
The workability of the product is satiable.
