The first item on our list deserves to be called the best sub ohm tank for flavor. This tank by Wotofo can offer you a solid performance for a very reasonable price, and a great flavor quality will be a pleasant bonus.

The first thing I want to note about this top-rated sub ohm tank is the simplicity of its construction. It features a top-fill design and is super easy to use, which means you won’t have to study the manual instead of enjoying your vape. It comes with 0.25 coils, which perform well but don’t last that long. The wicking process wasn’t challenging for me, although I realize that new vapers will probably need to practice for a little bit in order to deal with those small wicking holes.

Now, as for the performance, here I have no complaints. The vapor production is more than just decent and satisfied me completely. Flavor-wise, this tank truly deserves its place among the best. The bottom airflow is adjustable and super smooth, which directly influences the flavor quality.

Let’s consider the most important pros and cons:

Pros

Easy top-fill design

Two tank capacity options

Stainless steel construction

Excellent flavor

Good vapor production

Adjustable bottom airflow

Cons

The coil life might be not enough for some users (around a week)

The wicking holes are quite small, may require some practice

The airflow doesn’t allow for a tight draw, which might disappoint some users

The next contestant for the right to be called the best tank on the modern market is this sleek-looking and well-constructed item by Joyetech.

The simple stainless steel and Pyrex design aren’t new on the vaping market. However, the eGo One V2 looks and feels sturdy, so it will serve you for a long time. Now, this tank atomizer is super affordable, so if you aren’t sure what you need, you may try this one without wasting a fortune. However, it is so cheap partly because it comes without coils. Just something to keep in mind.

If you are wondering about how well it performs, let me assure you:

This tank will not disappoint you. It’s not an ideal option for super demanding vapers who want something more advanced, but it still performs more than just fine.

The vapor production is good and the flavor is nice too. There’s also an adjustable airflow at the bottom to help you find the perfect combination for your favorite vaping style.

A large tank will allow you to refill it seldom but might look too big

Pros

Affordable

Simple and durable construction

Easy to use

Great performance overall

Adjustable bottom airflow

Sleek design

Cons

The atomizer comes without a coil head

May be not powerful enough for more experienced and demanding users

Another contestant for the right to be called the best sub ohm tank is this item by SMOK. And trust me when I say:

Guys at SMOK really know what they’re doing. Because this tank features titanium coils instead of the standard and more prevalent nickel ones, it can be easily called the best temperature control tank.

Now, the second you unpack it, you are going to realize that it is very well built. It is obvious right from the start. This atomizer is larger than the majority that I’ve tried, but this can easily be explained because of its juice capacity (which is 5 ml). Its stainless-steel construction and a thick, strong Pyrex glass tank promise a long use duration. The coil heads are proprietary temperature control ones, ranging from 420 to 600 °F.

And it gets better. The performance of this tank will pleasantly surprise you. The vapor production is amazing, which makes it suitable even for cloud chasing. The flavor quality is also rather impressive. One notable thing that’s worth your attention is the airflow system. The adjustable air holes are located at the bottom of the tank and on the drip tip too. This means you will be able to adjust the airflow in pretty much any way you want according to your taste and preferences. It is very smooth and allows for numerous options, whether you’re after huge clouds or extremely concentrated flavor.

Now, take a look at the key pros and cons:

Pros

Great construction, easy to use

Smooth and versatile airflow

Comes with pre-installed coil heads

Temperature control coil heads

Amazing vapor and flavor

Large 5-ml tank

Capable of withstanding high wattage

Cons

Uses the e-juice rather fast, which will require frequent refills

Might allow some leakage through the air holes at the top

24.5-mm diameter might be not everyone’s cup of tea

Coils burn out rather fast (in a week or so)

This item by Uwell is on this list of the best sub ohm tanks for a reason. Actually, for a number of reasons. It is sturdy, reliable, easy to use, and, most importantly, deserves to be called the best top-fill sub ohm tank in its price category.

Let’s start with the build quality and construction. To be honest, I didn’t expect this tank to be so well built. The top-fill design allows for quick refills, which you actually won’t have to do too often since the tank capacity is 5 ml and the coils don’t eat the juice too fast, especially on lower power levels. The top-fill slots aren’t too large, which means this tank won’t allow leakage (unlike the majority of other models). The airflow system is located at the bottom of the tank and features three separate slots. It is very smooth and allows for numerous vaping options. Click here to learn even more about vape tanks!

When choosing a sub ohm tank, pay attention to all the extras that come with the kit. For instance, an additional glass tube will always come in handy

Moving on to the performance, the first thing I want to point at is the fact that the manufacturer managed to learn from the previous models’ mistakes and has improved this Crown 3 model drastically. The vapor production and the richness of the flavor almost blew me away. This tank comes with 0.25 and 0.5-ohm coil heads, which both perform excellently on different wattages. I used them both at 80W and was very happy with the outcome.

Now, consider the key pros and cons:

Pros

Great build quality

Super easy and convenient top-fill design with no leaks

Great performance vapor- and flavor-wise

Large tank

Smooth airflow system with many customization options

Large wicking holes, great to keep the wicks saturated

Cons

The coil heads come pre-installed and there’s no option for building your own coils, which may disappoint some users

Cleaning the tank may be a bit challenging because of the construction

Burns the e-juice fast on high wattages

Best Sub Ohm Tank in 2016-2017

Kangertech Toptank Mini SSOCC

Kangertech Toptank Mini SSOCC
  • Diameter: 22 mm
  • Height: 45 mm
  • Tank capacity: 4 ml
  • Stainless steel construction
  • Pyrex glass tank
  • Comes with 2 different coils
  • Adjustable bottom airflow
  • Top-fill design

The next item on our list is this tank by Kangertech, which was the best sub ohm tank in 2016-2017 and has high chances of staying among the winners in 2018. This model has everything a good tank should possess: great airflow, reliable construction, and well-performing coils.

The first thing I want to note is how compact this tank is. Despite having a 4-ml capacity, it is rather small. However, cleaning and refilling it isn’t challenging since the construction is super simple. You will be able to take it all apart in a matter of seconds. I also love the fact that the drip tip is rather long, which means you won’t touch the tank with your lips when vaping.

But don’t let this tank’s mini size fool you:

It performs extremely well.

It comes with two coils (0.5 and 0.15-ohm), which allow for huge thick clouds and a very flavorful vapor. The airflow is adjustable and features rather large slots, which allow for numerous customizations options for tighter and smoother draws, whichever you prefer. If you are looking for rebuildable atomizers then check out our top-rated RDA and RTA guides.

Now, look at the following pros and cons:

Pros

Sturdy construction

Super easy to use and take apart

Convenient top-fill design

Great airflow system

Great vapor production, suitable for cloud chasing

Comes with 2 different coils

Cons

The finish may get scratched easily (although it depends on the user)

Might allow some leakage

If you are looking for the best sub ohm tank on the market, you might want to pay your attention to this model by SMOK. This small tank lives up to its name, Baby Beast. It is small but powerful, features a sturdy construction, and performs surprisingly well.

Here’s the deal:

This tank is rather compact and doesn’t have an excessively large e-juice capacity.

However, it packs a lot of helpful features.

It comes with a pre-installed dual 0.2-ohm coil and a spare 0.15-ohm quadruple coil, which both perform amazingly well at the range of 40-60 W (in my opinion). The top-fill design is super handy and doesn’t allow any leakage (at least I didn’t experience it). The dual-sided airflow is adjustable and can help you optimize your vape, the amount of vapor, and the deepness of flavor.

The top-fill design is very convenient but may allow occasional leaking

As for the performance, there’s nothing really to complain about. The flavor quality is more than simply satisfactory.

It gets better:

The thickness and the size of the clouds may surprise even experienced vapers.

And this is what I love about this tank:

Even though it does look very well constructed, it doesn’t look like a beast. So, when you actually try it and see how it performs, the surprise is genuine.

Check out the key pros and cons:

Pros

Compact and reliable construction

Easy-to-use design

Beast-like performance in terms of both flavor and vapor

Good airflow

Convenient top-fill design with no leakages

The coils last longer than the majority of other models (for around two whole weeks)

Cons

The tank may get warm when vaping at higher wattages

There’s no option for building your own coils unless you buy an RBA deck separately

The next item on our list is this tank by Wotofo. “Wotofo, again?” you may ask. Yes, because those guys really know how to make equipment for satisfying vapes and happy customers. This model allows you to build your own coils and is able to provide you with a great sub ohm experience thanks to its construction and airflow.

Now, the first thing that I’m sold on with this model is its design. And I mean both the way it looks and the way it is constructed. I don’t know about you, but I absolutely love the combination of a laconic stainless steel body and a marble-styled drip tip (especially the gold and the black ones with those gold bits and a black marble design).

Another feature I really love is the extra tube (the bubble one), which allows for a larger tank capacity and less frequent refills. This tank has a raised building deck, so it’s quite easy to install coils on, providing enough space for the wicks and keeping them well-saturated.

Because of such a smart construction and the quality of the materials used, this tank performs very well. The airflow is super smooth and allows for various adjustments. The flavor is rich and deep, just like we all love.

It gets better:

The cloud production is great too! I mean, it’s a sub ohm tank, so these characteristics turned out to be as expected.

Let’s consider some pros and cons:

Pros

Great construction, easy to work with

Smooth adjustable airflow

Excellent flavor quality and vapor production

Allows for coil building

Comes with an extra tank tube (a larger one)

Looks great

Enough space for wicks to stay properly saturated

Cons

The airflow might make a whistling sound

Being a rebuildable tank atomizer, it may be not suitable for beginners

The last item on our list clearly aspires to be among the best sub ohm tanks on the market. It features a reliable construction, performs surprisingly well, and is super easy to use.

The stainless-steel body and the Borosilicate glass tube promise a long duration and a reliable operation. This tank is super easy to take apart (if you need to change the coil head) and to refill. The parts fit together well and don’t require you to apply much force in order to disassemble the tank.

The airflow system in your tank is extremely important. It will directly influence the vapor production and the flavor richness

Now, in terms of performance, this little guy will not disappoint you. There’s a dual airflow system, which you can adjust according to your preferences. If you want the thickest clouds ever, leave the air holes opened completely and vape at higher wattages. Both the penta-coil and the tri-coil heads work great with this tank. And, if you want a more concentrated flavor, close the air holes and experiment with the best adjustment for your taste.

Take a look at the major pros and cons:

Pros

Very well built

Great airflow control

Ideal for both great vapor production and deep flavor

Sleek design, easy to use

Comes with 2 different coil heads

Comes with lots of extras

Cons

The coils may burn out rather fast (around 4 days, in my case)

The wide mouthpiece might be not everyone’s cup of tea

Sub Ohm Vaping: Pros and Cons

Here’s the deal:

This vaping style is not for everyone. Therefore, before making your first purchase, consider all the pros and cons.

Let’s start with the positive things:

  • Sub ohm vaping is perfect for cloud chasing.
  • It allows for more flavor.
  • It is suitable for a stronger lung hit.
  • If you need an enhanced, crisper nicotine taste, sub ohm vaping can provide you with that.
  • This style is ideal for fans of warm vapor.

Now, there are some downsides as well:

  • Such a huge amount of vapor may be very overwhelming for new vapers.
  • It requires refills that are more frequent and it uses more e-juice.
  • Typically, sub ohm devices are more expensive than the regular ones.
  • It is more suitable for the direct-to-lung vaping than for the mouth-to-lung, so it might be not for everybody.
  • The coils tend to burn much faster.
Sum Ohm Vaping

Best E-Juice for Sub Ohm Vaping

The only thing you need to remember is that sub ohm vaping results in much more vapor and flavor. Therefore, too strong and concentrated e-juices may be too much.

You should also pay attention to the VG/PG ratio. The ideal one for such a vaping style is 50/50, in my opinion. Higher PG or VG concentration may feel too strong on your throat and lungs, so it’s better to be careful (at least at first while you’re getting used to this vaping style).

Best E-Juice for Sub Ohm Vaping

And if you vape on nicotine, remember that sub ohm tank will offer you a stronger nicotine hit. It is best to start with lower nicotine levels and see how they work for you.

Conclusion

To be honest, every new purchase fascinates and dreads me at the same time. You see, you can never know whether your new device will be suitable for you. However, that’s what you need me for: I am testing everything that I physically can in order to help you make the wisest choice possible.

Among those 8 sub ohm tanks (using which I honestly enjoyed), there was one that made me the happiest. I am ready to recommend it to my friends and everyone I know without hesitation. It’s the Bravo RTA by Wotofo. Why? Because it’s really good. It looks awesome and features an excellent construction, with a building deck for your coils and great airflow. If you are looking for a sub ohm tank that can provide you with everything a vaper wants, the Bravo model is your ideal option.

Some people say that leaving huge clouds when sub ohm vaping is inappropriate. What are your thoughts on this topic? You can share them in a comment section below.

I was surprised to see Toptank in this chart. Old is gold, eh? But seriously this is a very reliable tank. As for me it’s the best starter atomizer to understand would you like vaping or not.

Wotofo is real good and its quality is quite amazing.
My friends couldn’t believe the simplicty of its appearance.

I got a moderate and satisfactory vapour production just that am yet to understand the actual use of the wicking holes in wotofo.
    Overall experience was lovely.
